Set in 272 acres of beautiful parkland with rolling hills, large lakes and deep rivers, Chateau Golf D’Augerville sits naturally into this stunning setting.

The course is closely situated to Fontainebleau and is easily accessible from the Eurotunnel or Orly airport .

Along with Golf Monthly buddy and colleague Rob Smith we set out on Sunday morning to board the Eurotunnel to make our way around Paris and onto Chateau Golf D’Augerville

The Journey took about 6 hours and we arrived mid afternoon and met up with our wonderful hosts at the Chateau.

The Chateau is steeped in French History and dates back to the 12th century. It truly is one of the most amazing places to stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful and dining there is a wonderful experience.

Now that Troon Golf are managing the golf, the course and facilities are what you would expect from any Troon Venue.

We also visited Fontainebleau golf course which is about a 15 minute journey away. This course is regularly voted in the top 5 courses in France and also in the top 100 in the world.

Obviously as it’s so close to the Chateau it’s well worth a visit.

On our way back we visited Paris National, for me it’s an interesting layout but not as picturesque as the other two. It will be interesting to see how it looks after the changes that are going to be made ready for the Ryder Cup in 2018.
