For those of you that haven’t already visited Trevose in Cornwall, I seriously recommend you add it to ‘your to do list’ any time soon. I’m trying to think of a club where as a visiting guest you get a more sincere and welcoming experience! So far I’m still thinking.

It might be because It’s a family run business, has plenty of on site accommodation, a bar with all of the local beers and a restaurant that competes with some of the big names in nearby Padstow.

But actually it’s because of the owners and staff plus a brilliant golf course with stunning views that really make this such a wonderful location.

I flew from Gatwick into Newquay, the flight takes 50 minutes and was probably the most cost effective way for me to get there. It’s a 20 minute transfer from the airport so you could be teeing up just a few hours after leaving home.

They also have some fantastic open competitions at Trevose, when I was there they had the international pairs with players coming from all over to play.

I really enjoyed this trip which hopefully reflects in the course images and I’m looking forward to returning some time next year.
