The last time I visited Dubai was 10 years ago when I was art directing a photoshoot for Callaway Golf. We were working at the Emirates Golf courses which was a 5 minute journey from our Beach hotel. The only memorable building on route was the Hardrock Cafe, mostly it was open roads and desert.

How things have changed in such a short time! Not only is there a new course around the Original courses but the spectacular backdrop of amazing skyscrapers is stunning. The Wadi course designed by Sir Nick Faldo is a brilliant layout with a very special twist, when the sun goes down the course is still playable because of the Floodlights that are situated on all 18 holes. It takes a few shots to adjust to the light and once you have it’s a truly remarkable experience, one that I would fully recommend to play on your next trip to Dubai.
