Recently on a shoot at the Las Colinas Course in Spain I met up with the lovely Kristin Moe the editor of Norsk Golf, Norways top golf magazine! Kristin has been interested in my travels and was keen to do an interview about me and my work.

We chatted over lunch and one of the questions was why my work was different to most of the course photography out there. I was semi reluctant to answer this but then had a think about it and thought why not!

I gave away some of my little secrets but as it’s published in a very difficult language to learn I though it safe to do so.

There are many reasons why an image might work or fail, the 3 things that I try to implement are drama, balance and quality. The drama is self explanatory this can be achieved by a combination of shooting a hole from the right angle and with the right light. Composition is something that is built in and comes from being an art director for too many years! Quality is the most important and this comes from having an understanding of reproduction and how to achieve the best from your image. This is why I do all my own post production, it then stays my shot, my work, no one else has ownership. I’m hoping to get the article translated into English and will publish it later as another Post.
