Bandit Design and how it started

It wasn’t an easy decision to make, It was time to leave my old company Blue Hawk. I decided to get straight into launching my new company with the idea on concentrating on producing a design and marketing company solely targeting the golf industry. Back in 2002 Bandit Design was formed.

It didn’t take long before the phone started ringing and old contacts were asking me what I was up to. Jenny Borwick was the first person from Callaway Golf to give me my first design challenge. It went well and it wasn’t long before I was working on all of the through the line marketing material for CG. It was a bit different from all of the creative ads I produced when I was the CD on the account for Blue Hawk but it was still a lot of fun, hard work and very rewarding. This lasted for about 3 years and eventually all of the work was brought in house at CG. It was at this time that I was working on one of the last projects, a joint branded promotion between St Andrews Links and Callaway Golf. I had to use some images that were supplied but didn’t think that they had enough drama or quality. So I decided to get up early go down to my local course and shoot a few images to show the style I was after. When St Andrews saw these images I was invited to meet up with them at the Old Course and was asked to produce some prints for the old course shops. The rest as they say is history. I still offer my design services, in some case this suits certain clients where they want a complete package. I haven’t updated my Bandit deign website for some time but you can see some of my design and advertising work by visiting www.banditdesign.com
