This is Brendon one of the course superintendents from Saadiyat Beach Golf Course in Abu Dhabi. We wanted to get an overview of the course and so a cherry picker was hired to do the job. Because of the shifting sands we had to be very careful where to place the machine, this did limit our photo options but it wasn’t worth taking any chances. This particular one extends to about 60 ft, it can be opperated from the basket but it works better from the controls on the ground. Having said that Brendon eventually decided that he would join me in the basket to take in the stunning sunrise, we managed to get the picture, got back down onto tera firma and… it packed in. Up to now I haven’t had a problem with heights but the thought of being stuck 60ft in the air 3 hours away from my return flight is a bit daunting. I’ll shortly be posting the Saadiyat pics I hope you will agree it was worth taking the risk!
